Research firm Barclays reports that the line of 2019 iPhone will be supported by the latest WiFi 6 standard, based on IEEE 802.11ax technology. This brand-new WiFi technology allows connection speeds of up to 40 percent faster when compared to the speed offered by the standard WiFi 5 (802.11ac) released in 2014. This performance improvement is considered to be helpful when some people use the same connection, often when using public WiFi hotspots or even WiFi at home. WiFi 6 network is claimed to be more reliable when under these conditions. In addition, WiFi 6 is also claimed to be able to bring an increase in battery life. This new standard implements a new Wake Time Target feature, tasked with notifying devices related to the need for faster WiFi signals. This means that the transmission between WiFi can be put to sleep to save battery power. The 2019 iPhone line is expected to be introduced in early September. Until now, there is no detailed information regarding the line of devices, although it is reported to be the successor to the iPhone XR, iPhone XS and iPhone XS Max.
