How to Get Online Access to Your Google Maps Search History?
Google Maps keeps track of all the sites you’ve visited and searched for. You may look through your Google Maps search history to identify specific regions or permanently erase them. Make sure you’re signed in to your Google account before you launch Google Maps on your computer, because all of the data is tied to the account you’re using. Follow the steps below to see your Google Maps search history on your desktop. Both Windows and Mac users can follow the same methods. You are free to use whichever browser you like. Your Google Maps search history can be found on the Maps Activity page. You can review it by scrolling down, manually remove some or all of it, and use the Search your activity section to find a specific location in your search history. You’ll find a search filter just below the search bar that allows you to filter your activity on the map by date. You can choose to see your searches from Today, Yesterday, Last Seven Days, Last Thirty Days, All Time, or a Custom Period in the filter. Select Erase > All time, for example, to delete all Google Maps searches. Choose Bundle View or Item View from the left sidebar to see your whole location history. Item View shows your searches one by one in a row, whereas Bundle View groups them by date. Return to the top of the Maps Activity page after reading your location history. You can enable or disable two options to control how Google Maps records and stores your data. Activity to save money: It’s also known as Web & App Activity, and it’s something you should maintain on. Google Maps Web & App Activity captures your prior Google Maps searches across several platforms (on your phone, desktop, etc.). Auto-delete: You can delete prior Google Maps searches that are older than three months, 18 months, or 36 months using the Maps Activity auto-delete feature. Select Don’t auto-delete instead if you want to see your Google Maps search history.
How to Look at Your Google Maps Search History on Your Phone?
When you’re on the go, the Google Maps app for Android or iOS saves all of your searches. Sign in to your Google account on your phone and follow the steps below to access your search history. Both iOS and Android have the same instructions. You’ll be directed to the Maps Activity page. The menu items in the app are identical to those on the Google Maps website. You may scroll down to see your whole Google Maps search history, apply a filter to see search entries from a specified time period, or use the Search your activity search field to find a specific location in your Google Maps search history. On your phone, all objects appear in Bundle View by default. Select Menu > Delete or Menu > Auto-eliminate from the Google Maps app on your mobile to delete previous searches. You can remove your previous Google Maps searches from the previous hour or day, as well as create a custom time. You may also remove the search results from the list one by one by hand.
How to Manage Google Maps Search History Using the Timeline?
Google Maps gives you yet another opportunity to see your full location history and all of the sites you’ve looked up on a single map. Based on your Google Maps search history, the Timeline estimates where you’ve gone and all the routes you’ve travelled. On mobile and desktop, you may utilize Timeline to examine and amend your Location History, as well as pause and resume the recording of your Location History. Open Google Maps on your computer or the Google Maps app on your smartphone to see your Timeline. Select Your Timeline from the menu.
Manage Location History is the option to choose.
The Activity Controls tab appears on the Timeline, where you may turn on and off your Location History, set up Auto-delete to remove some or all of your Location History, and Manage activity to review and amend your previous activity.
Keep or delete your Google Maps search history
While it’s useful to be able to look through all of your prior Google Maps queries, the idea of Google gathering such information raises privacy concerns. It’s up to you whether you want Google Maps to track your movements or if you want it to remove itself and leave no trace.
